This book contains a fifth collection of the author’s finest faceting designs. It provides 57 newoptimized patterns in a range of shapes with detailed instructions on how to cut them in a widerange of gem materials. Ranging from easy-to-cut high-performance designs to morechallenging designs for the experienced faceter. When designing, the author pays attention tomaximizing factors like brilliance, sparkle, scintillation, and contrast. In this volume, the authorpresents new shapes, including barrels, bells, and rectangular bars. This complements awell rounded selection of designs in commonly used shapes. By considering gem facetingdesign an art form, new ground can be explored, which accounts for some of the more bespokedesigns contained within the publication.
