Shotaro Ishinomori, the king of manga, completes his life's work, "Cyborg 009." The color pages are fully reproduced. Many luxurious bonuses are included. The frontispiece pin-up features a newly drawn illustration of "The Nine Standing on the Mu Continent" by Hayase Masato, the last disciple, and on the back, a "Yosegaki" (group drawing) of 009 drawn by past disciples, including Go Nagai. At the end of the volume, Leiji Matsumoto, a master of SF manga who shares the same birthdate as Shotaro Ishinomori, talks about "009" and Shotaro Ishinomori and draws an original illustration. In addition, articles featuring the Ishinomori Manga Museum in Ishinomaki and archive articles of "009" are included.

"Cyborg 009," an unfinished SF masterpiece and the life's work of "the king of manga," Shotaro Ishinomori. Jo Onodera, a playwright who heard the concept of the final chapter directly from Ishinomori, and Ishinomori's former assistants, inherit his will across time. The final battle of the cyborg warriors begins here!

Shotaro Ishinomori Shotaro Ishimori shotaro ishinomori
Real name: Shotaro Onodera. Born in Miyagi Prefecture in 1938. Debuted by serializing "Nikyu Tenshi" in "Manga Shonen" while in high school. After moving to Tokyo, he released hit after hit. In 1989, he announced the "Manga Declaration," showing new possibilities for manga and manga artists, and called himself a "Manga artist." He received various awards, including the Grand Prize of the Japan Cartoonists Association Award, the Minister of Education Award, and the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Special Award. Died in January 1998.

Jo Onodera
Actor, director. Eldest son of Shotaro Ishinomori.
